Man Shot by Police After Chase Is Hospitalized
Police shot and wounded a man who allegedly led them on an hourlong chase that ended when his vehicle struck a police car Saturday night, authorities said.
The unidentified man, shot several times, was hospitalized at Providence Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills; his condition was not released Sunday.
Officers from the Foothill Station of the Los Angeles Police Department said that when they responded to a report of an armed man disturbing the peace and gave chase, he refused to stop. The pursuit ended near Laurel Canyon Boulevard and Mercer Street. Details of the shooting were not given.
