A Newbury Park man on probation for spousal battery pleaded not guilty Thursday to murder and related charges for allegedly stabbing his wife to death during an argument at a room they rented.
Domingo Angeles, 37, denied killing Lorena Angeles, 22, with a knife Nov. 26 while on probation for a domestic violence case.
Court records show he pleaded guilty to misdemeanor battery on his wife nine months before her slaying and agreed to seek domestic violence counseling.
Angeles is being held in lieu of more than $1 million bail.
