A man was arrested at a Los Angeles International Airport checkpoint after a loaded shotgun and unloaded pistol were found in the trunk of his car, airport officials said Monday.
Sultan Abdul-Malik is scheduled to be arraigned today on charges of illegally carrying a loaded firearm in a car, said Tom Winfrey, a spokesman for the Los Angeles airport department.
Abdul-Malik’s car was stopped about 11:50 p.m. Sunday, and he told airport police that there were guns in the trunk, Winfrey said.
