Suspected Ice Cream Bandits Arrested

Police arrested two people Thursday in connection with a series of armed robberies at ice cream parlors in Orange County.
Acting on a tip, a team of officers arrested James Michael Vasquez and Julie Anne Gaxiola about 1:30 p.m. near McClure Avenue and Titus Street.
Vasquez, 35, and Gaxiola, 36, are suspected of robbing a Baskin-Robbins on Westminster Boulevard on Dec. 26, as well as other ice cream parlors throughout the county, according to Sgt. Tom Pixler.
