‘Our Fathers’ due on Showtime

The ongoing child molestation scandal involving Roman Catholic priests will be the subject of an original movie on Showtime.
Executives at the pay cable network said Thursday that they are developing “Our Fathers,” based on Newsweek editor David France’s examination of the Catholic Church’s pedophilia scandal and cover-up. The announcement of the project comes on the verge of the release of a survey by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops outlining sexual abuse by more than 4,000 priests between 1950 and 2002.
Showtime Entertainment President Robert Greenblatt said that while all of the stories and characters in the movie are based on fact, the movie will change the names of the victims.
