Intel to Build Smaller Flash-Memory Chips
From Bloomberg News
Intel Corp. said it would build smaller flash-memory chips for mobile phones and electronics.
The products will have thinner wires, just 90 nanometers wide, to pack more circuits on a single chip and cut production costs, Intel said.
Flash memory stores data even when a device is turned off.
Mobile phones with Internet access, built-in cameras and similar features require higher-speed flash memory. The low speed of current offerings has limited the popularity of such devices.
