Prime Minister Fails to Overturn Vote Results

Election officials rejected Ukrainian Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovich’s bid to overturn results showing that he lost this week’s presidential revote, saying he had not proved that there were any mass violations, a commission member said.
Managers of Yanukovich’s campaign vowed to take their appeal to the Supreme Court.
The prime minister has refused to accept results showing a solid victory for opposition leader Viktor Yushchenko in Sunday’s vote.
That runoff was a repeat of a Nov. 21 vote. The Supreme Court threw out Yanukovich’s victory because of fraud.
