Porsche Recalls Convertible 911s
From Bloomberg News
Porsche, the maker of the Boxster and 911 sports cars, is recalling 18,165 convertible 911s to ensure the roofs won’t open during high-speed travel.
The recall affects models built between Aug. 11, 1993, and Jan. 26, 1998, the Stuttgart, Germany-based carmaker said. The recall includes 8,252 vehicles in Europe and 8,952 cars in the U.S.
The carmaker will replace the roof-opening mechanism. Cracks were found in a gear that may prevent the roof from latching properly, Porsche said, adding that there have been no accidents or injuries reported in connection with the fault.
