Terror Suspects Released Temporarily Before Trial
From Times Wire Reports
A judge granted provisional release to three Moroccans formerly held by the United States at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, as their trial on terrorism charges began, lawyers said.
One was a man said to have been Osama bin Laden’s bodyguard. U.S. news media had reported that Abdellah Tabarak, 49, was quoted in State Department memos as saying he had helped Bin Laden escape in late 2001. Tabarak’s lawyer denied the reports.
The men will be monitored by authorities and cannot travel abroad.
