Gunmen Hijack Bus With 26 Passengers
From Times Wire Reports
Police surrounded a bus carrying 26 passengers that was seized by two armed hijackers along a highway from an Athens suburb.
They said gunshots had been heard, but they were not sure of the identities of the gunmen. Police suspected that the hijackers of the Marathon-Athens bus were Albanians. A bus company official said they apparently wanted to go to the Athens airport and leave the country.
Negotiators, police snipers and special forces arrived on the scene. There were no immediate reports of injuries.
