Re “A Life of Payouts, Not Handouts,” Dec. 3: How enlightening it was to read how well the Chumash are doing in Santa Ynez, since they raped the beautiful landscape to erect a gargantuan casino. How nice for them that they are entitled to $30,000 a month for doing nothing. Isn’t it wonderful that the Chumash band allocates 15% of casino profits to the tribal government, and 85% is given to tribal members. However, your reporter forgot to mention how much they are contributing to the California economy and deficit. Exactly.
