It’s No Ponderosa, but It Will Be a Bonanza

The Los Alamitos Bonanza, a three-race series for 2-year-olds that had included the Kindergarten Futurity, Ed Burke Memorial and Los Alamitos Million, will have a new look in 2005.

The Burke will replace the Kindergarten as the first leg of the series, followed by the Golden State Futurity and Los Alamitos Million. In addition, all three races will be worth $1 million, meaning Los Alamitos will be the only quarter horse track in the country offering three $1-million races in a single meet. The Burke was worth $418,000 this year. One thing that hasn’t changed in the Bonanza is a $1-million bonus will be paid to the connections if any horse is able to win all three races.

The picks: 1. Janzig Warrior. 2. Globalist. 3. Legal Thief. 4. Cindy’s Majic. 5. Rocket Me Fast. 6. Willys Wampum. 7. Sassy J Valentine. 8. Shake The Magic.
