The Military Card
As a registered Libertarian, I am unlikely to vote for George W. Bush or John F. Kerry; however, I feel like I am watching “Wag the Dog” with this endless and irrelevant debate over the virtues of serving in Vietnam versus serving in the National Guard. If the Democrats really cared about past military heroism they would not have nominated a draft dodger (Bill Clinton) in 1992; if the Republicans really cared they would have nominated a true war hero (John McCain) in 2000.
The only meaningful issues are the last four years of Bush versus what Kerry might do better and how he proposes to do it. The rest is a giant smokescreen.
P.S.: The only wasted vote is the vote not cast!
