* Federal rules take effect allowing consumers to take existing phone numbers with them when they switch wireless carriers.
Tuesday:
* Commerce Department reports on gross domestic product, third quarter, preliminary.
* National Assn. of Realtors reports on existing home sales for October.
* Brookings Institution holds forum on progress of economic reform in Russia.
* Public Interest Research Group issues annual report on most hazardous toys.
* Center for Strategic and International Studies and American Bar Assn. host separate discussions on hemispheric free-trade talks.
* Conference Board releases its report on consumer confidence for November.
Wednesday:
* Chicago commodities and futures markets close early for Thanksgiving.
* Commerce Department reports on personal income and spending for October, and on durable goods orders and new-home sales, also for October.
* Federal Reserve releases “beige book,” its survey of regional economic conditions.
* Freddie Mac, the mortgage company, reports on mortgage rates.
* Labor Department reports on weekly jobless claims.
* University of Michigan releases consumer sentiment survey for November.
Thursday:
* Thanksgiving. Stock and bond markets, banks and most businesses closed.
Friday:
* Stock markets close early.
