Fellow Yale Alumni Gather at Bush’s House
President Bush had a few college buddies over for a backyard dinner -- White House style.
The White House said Bush was entertaining an estimated 1,000 people on the South Lawn for a reunion of his Yale graduating class of 1968. The gathering marked Bush’s latest mending of fences with the school, which he accused of intellectual snobbery while he was Texas governor.
Those attending reportedly were being charged from $135 to $195 a ticket so the government would not have to pay for the private event.
Bush’s father, the first President Bush, and grandfather Prescott attended Yale, as does his daughter Barbara.
