Vandross’ mom says he’ll recover

Luther Vandross’ mother says she believes her son will recover from a stroke he suffered April 16.
“He has to recover, he’s all I have left, he’s my last surviving child,” Mary Vandross said in a statement Monday.
Vandross is unconscious and remains in critical condition, his record label, J Records, said Monday.
The 52-year-old singer suffered the stroke at his Manhattan home and is hospitalized at Weill-Cornell Medical College.
