Re “Heat Turned Up on Arctic Exhibit?” April 29: It is hard to decide which is more disgusting; the Bush administration pressuring the Smithsonian Institution to basically hide a photographic exhibit on the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge or the lame reasons for moving the exhibit put forth by the Smithsonian. It has to be the Smithsonian’s excuses, because it is at least supposed to have some integrity, as opposed to the Bush administration, which is essentially a front for big-oil interests.
Showing people images of the vibrant, unspoiled ANWR might upset the Bush league’s plans to wreck it, thereby slowing its larger campaign to destroy the environment and make the rich even richer.
