Bertelsmann Asks Court to Dismiss Suits

Bertelsmann asked a federal court in New York to dismiss lawsuits filed by rival record labels EMI Group and Vivendi Universal over the German company’s investment in music-sharing service Napster.
The suits contend Bertelsmann contributed to copyright infringement by providing money to keep Napster operating and by participating in management decisions.
