Stripes concerts are postponed
The White Stripes’ July and August U.S. concerts were postponed Tuesday after guitarist Jack White fractured his finger in a minor car accident. Actress Renee Zellweger was in the car with White but was not hurt when their vehicle collided with another car last Wednesday in Detroit. The injury to White’s left index finger will prevent him from playing guitar for four weeks, according to a statement released by the band Tuesday. The Detroit duo also had to cancel headline appearances at two U.K. rock festivals over the weekend. The Stripes were scheduled to start their North American tour on July 19 in Providence, R.I. The postponement will not affect the Stripes’ appearances Sept. 22 and 23 at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles.
