Driver Arrested After Crashing Into Garage

A speeding motorist lost control of his car and plowed into a home’s garage early Friday, police said.
Ervin Johnson, 50, of Oxnard was driving about 100 mph on the 1600 block of Park Avenue when he drove into the garage, police said. Johnson tried to run from the vehicle, but was arrested on suspicion of reckless driving, police said.
No one was hurt in the accident, but the Port Hueneme building inspector deemed the garage unusable, said Cmdr. Ken Dobbe.
