Jacobs Engineering Net Income, Sales Rise

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. reported net income of $30.1 million, or 54 cents a share, for the first quarter of its fiscal 2003. That’s up from $25.9 million, or 47 cents a share, for the year-ago quarter.
Sales for the global engineering and construction firm were $1.2 billion for the period ended Dec. 31, compared with $1 billion a year ago.
Shares of Pasadena-based Jacobs fell 28 cents to $36.17 on the NYSE. Earnings were announced after the market closed.
