Santa Ana Woman Killed Crossing Street

A Santa Ana woman was struck and killed Wednesday as she crossed the center lane of a busy street, police said.
Aurora Cortez, 72, was crossing the westbound side of 1st Street, west of Shelton Street, about 4 p.m. when she was struck by a Toyota Camry.
She was taken to Western Medical Center-Santa Ana, where she was pronounced dead .
The cause of the collision is still being investigated, police said.
