Reporter, Activist ‘Arrest’ Each Other

A fight between a consumer activist and a newspaper reporter ended after they placed each other under citizen’s arrest.
Police Chief Chris Gallagher said the fight broke out at a Lassen Municipal Utility District meeting this week. William Noonberg, a reporter for the Lassen County Times, and James Forbes, a spokesman for a consumer advocacy group, made citizen’s arrests of each other
Both men told police they had been punched or pushed by the other.
Officers issued battery citations to both.
