Limits on Adult Bookstore OKd
The Los Angeles City Council voted unanimously Wednesday to impose restrictions on a Mission Hills adult bookstore with “a notorious reputation,” a spokesman for City Council President Alex Padilla said.
The Talk of the Valley bookstore on Devonshire Street must adhere to 30 guidelines or face misdemeanor charges. Among other things, the store will be required to clean three times a day the individual booths where customers watch X-rated videos and curtail its daily operating hours from 24 to 12.
The city directive takes effect as soon as the mayor signs it.
Owner Fred Alfano called the council action unconstitutional.
