Costa Mesa Road’s Peace and Quiet Threatened
A developer who does not and will not live here has made plans to build multiple two-story structures on Myran Drive, a small, private road with a 50-year history of only single-story homes. This unique easement with no through traffic is on the west side of Costa Mesa, only two blocks from bustling Harbor Boulevard.
What the residents love most about living here is our small, private, quiet and intimate community consisting of only four one-story, single-family older homes, all on one side of the street. We have open-space yards with detached garages and beautiful old trees. If a developer is allowed to build multiple two-story structures, our small community will be forever changed for the worse. None of the residents wants more traffic, parking problems, overcrowding or noise. We do not want to look up from our yards and see buildings instead of the sky and trees.
We believe we have a right to reasonable enjoyment of what is good and beautiful about our neighborhood. It is totally possible to build or remodel in such a way that respects the existing character and scale of a neighborhood such as ours. That is all we ask.
