Pond ripples: The Arrowhead Pond in Anaheim has ended its exclusive booking deal with the Nederlander Organization, opening the arena to all concert promoters, Pond General Manager Tim Ryan said Monday. The change arises from a new management company, Anaheim Arena Management, that takes over operation of the facility today, following the bankruptcy of the Pond’s previous operator, Covanta Energy, formerly Ogden Entertainment.
At the Met: Tony Award-winner Barbara Cook will make her Metropolitan Opera debut at the New Year’s Eve gala performance of Franz Lehar’s operetta “The Merry Widow.” Cook will appear in the party scene in Act III to sing four Broadway tunes.
