3 Consecutive league champions played by Fullerton in the Southern Section Division IX playoffs. The Indians defeated Valle Vista champion Pomona, 24-6, and Pacific Coast champion Irvine Northwood, 40-22, before falling to Freeway champion La Habra, 14-6.

6 Consecutive championship-game appearances by Newhall Hart after its 35-21 semifinal victory over San Clemente in Division II. The Indians have won four titles.

514 Yards passing by Ridgecrest Burroughs’ Karsten Sween in a 53-31 victory over Phelan Serrano in a Division VIII semifinal. He was 33 for 52 with six touchdowns.

STANDOUTS

* Toby Gerhart surpassed 300 yards for the fifth time in the last six games in Norco’s 37-13 victory over Corona Santiago in Division V. Gerhart carried 36 times for 325 yards and four touchdowns.

* Jason Christensen rushed 17 times for 239 yards and five touchdowns and Sun Valley Village Christian defeated Ontario Christian, 49-29, in Division XII.

* Quarterback Seth Blackamore rushed 13 times for 200 yards and a touchdown and passed for 110 yards and two touchdowns, and Orange Lutheran defeated Hacienda Heights Wilson, 48-20, in Division VI.
