Knott’s plans new thrill ride

Knott’s Berry Farm has unveiled plans for its newest thrill ride, a $16-million steel inverted roller coaster from Swiss designers Bolliger & Mabillard. “Silver Bullet” will debut on Christmas Eve 2004 in the space recently vacated by the Church of Reflections chapel.
Riders will sit in ski-lift-style seats on the coaster, which will include six inversions, a 109-foot first drop and a top speed of 55 miles per hour. Much of the 3,125-foot-long track will stand over the park’s Reflection Lake.
Knott’s also will debut a spinning floorless gondola ride called RipTide in the Boardwalk section of the park next spring.
