Cleveland Wins, Gets Into Playoffs
Chasity Melvin scored a season-high 22 points and had 11 rebounds to lead the Cleveland Rockers into the playoffs with a 75-66 victory over the Charlotte Sting on Monday night in front of 6,543 at Cleveland.
Cleveland (17-17) will open the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs against the top-seeded Detroit Shock.
Tammy Sutton-Brown had 13 points for Charlotte (18-16), which will play the Connecticut Sun in the playoffs. The Sun beat out the Rockers for third place by winning at Indiana 72-62, eliminating the Fever.

Detroit 68, Washington 60 -- Ayana Walker had 14 points and 11 rebounds as the Shock (25-9) won at Auburn Hills, Mich., in front of 6,854. Washington’s Chamique Holdsclaw left the game with 4:07 remaining after hurting her left knee. Holdsclaw did not return.

Connecticut 72, Indiana 62 -- Taj McWilliams-Franklin scored 17 points to help the Sun (18-16) win at Indianapolis in front of 7,543. Indiana (16-18) needed to win to make the playoffs.

Seattle 70, Sacramento 57 -- Lauren Jackson scored 18 points to help the Storm (18-16) win at Seattle in front of 7,295.
