UC Warns Freshmen About Illegal Downloads

Using the free, high-speed Internet connection provided in dorms to download copyrighted music and movies is illegal, UC Berkeley is warning its estimated 3,640 incoming freshmen.
“We’re telling students ... we know it’s easy, but it’s against the law and you might suffer sanction,” said residential computing manager Dedra Chamberlin.
