Re George Skelton’s “Legislature Should Be Cut Back to Part Time,” Aug. 4: As soon as we are finished with the Gov. Gray Davis recall, I hope we will get a ballot measure to return to a part-time Legislature. We had one of the best state governments in the country until the public was foolish enough to vote for a full-time one and then compounded the problem by voting for term limits. It is time for true representation and doing away with politicians only interested in raising money to get reelected. This simple measure will correct many problems and save the taxpayers a bundle.
