2 FERC Employees to Be Posted at Cal-ISO

Federal regulators are posting two employees at the agency that manages California’s electricity grid to watch for signs of price manipulation as the state’s power markets are restructured.
An engineer, David Lengenfelder, and an economist, Charles Faust, with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission will begin working at an office at the California Independent System Operator’s headquarters in Folsom next week.
The move is part of a federal plan to restore credibility to wholesale power markets, still reeling from California’s energy crisis in late 2000 and early 2001.
