Frozen Food Business to Get Loan From County

Oh Boy!, a longtime frozen food business in San Fernando, will receive a $3-million loan from Los Angeles County to help keep its struggling plant afloat and save more than 150 jobs, Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky is expected to announce today.

The company, which opened in 1948, makes frozen Italian food products. But hard times recently forced owner Pietro Vitale to seek government funding.

The city of San Fernando successfully sought the aid of Los Angeles County’s Float Loan Program, which lends money to cities that then pass it on to businesses.
