MTV’s ‘Free’-for-All

MTV should be ashamed of itself for demanding that Public Enemy remove the word “free” from its “free Mumia” reference in the “Gotta Give the Peeps What They Need” video (“MTV, Public Enemy at Loggerheads,” by Geoff Boucher, Sept. 19).
If they think videos that objectify women, glorify gratuitous wealth/consumption and promote the “gangsta” life are not political, they are ignorantly mistaken.
