Couple Were Beaten to Death, Coroner Finds

Beatings to the head killed a husband and wife whose bodies were found this week in their Santa Paula bedroom, the Ventura County medical examiner determined Wednesday.
It is unclear, however, whether John M. Ramirez Jr., 59, and Joann Wotkyns, 55, died late Sunday or early Monday.
Police discovered the two bodies Monday night after the couple failed to show for work that day.
Santa Paula police have not made any arrests in the slayings, the city’s third and fourth this year.
