Former Manteca Official Gets Jail in Bribe Case
From Times Wire Reports
A judge has sentenced a former Manteca councilman to 120 days in jail, five years’ probation and 500 hours of community service for soliciting a bribe while in office.
Judge Stephen Demetras said Dave Macedo, 45, is eligible to enter an alternative work program that would trade more community service for jail time.
Macedo was arrested in June with $7,500 cash after he approached City Atty. John Brinton, seeking money in exchange for a vote to renew Brinton’s contract with a 6% raise.
