Regarding Nancy J. Baird’s article “Yorkshire: Misty Moors and a Shady History” (Sept. 29): I drove through that area in early June and have photographs and memories of Whitby, Rievaulx Abbey and Robin Hood’s Bay.
Some suggestions: To save time and hassle, fly into Manchester instead of London. I rented a car in Manchester and visited the Bronte parsonage on the way. Use the extra time to visit the fascinating city of York.
Also, stop in Thirsk to see the World of James Herriott and the original veterinarian practice that inspired the book series, “All Creatures Great and Small.”
