Trip Insurer’s Policy Takes Care of Business
- Share via
Access America is selling trip cancellation insurance that covers employees who are terminated or whose firms are merged or acquired by another, among other business reasons. It does not routinely cover workers whose bosses deny them time off to take a trip. Although some cruise and tour operators allow customers to purchase “cancel-for-any-reason” coverage, general trip insurers typically do not cover business reasons for canceling a trip.
The Access America Navigator policy also provides concierge services, such as arranging restaurant reservations and golf tee times. The cost varies by age and trip. For instance, a person age 31 to 60 would pay a $153 premium to cover a trip costing $2,001 to $2,500, a spokesman said. For information, see your travel agent or call (800) 284-8300.
