Drivers Ticketed for Not Yielding to Pedestrians
From Times Staff Reports
Thirty-seven motorists were issued traffic citations this week for failing to yield for pedestrians during a police sting operation at a major Ventura intersection, police said.
Police officials arranged the sting--in which officers posed as pedestrians--after receiving several complaints about unlawful drivers at Telephone Road and Cachuma Avenue.
The citations were issued between 3 and 5 p.m. Wednesday. Similar enforcement operations, officials said, will be conducted at major intersections near schools and busy bus stops.
