Harriet Doerr
Irving Stone once wrote that a writer is “a composer, attempting to capture the music of life for a tone-deaf world.” Harriet Doerr (obituary, Nov. 26) did that in her three books, writing with a crystal’s edge of brilliance and lyric intensity. We are the richer for that accomplishment.
