Catalina Express Relocating to New Complex
Catalina Express will lease 20,000 square feet of ground-floor space and a parking structure at the Catalina Landing complex in Long Beach.
The 10-year lease is valued at $5 million.
Catalina Express, which last year transported 600,000 passengers between Santa Catalina Island and the mainland, will employ 180 people and relocate a large part of its operations from its facilities near the Queen Mary.
The additional space and adjacent parking garage will allow Catalina Express to double its capacity to transport passengers to the island, company executives said.
The 275,000-square-foot Catalina Landing complex, which is 65% leased, includes four buildings, a 1,400-space garage and a ferry boat landing.
