On view is “Painted Light,” featuring California Impressionist paintings from the Gardena High School/Los Angeles Unified School District Collection. Included is Maynard Dixon’s “Men of the Red Earth,” above. Through Sun. Also at the museum: “Another West: Poets From Our Community,” readings by Adolfo Guzman and Olga Angelina Garcia at 7 p.m. Thu.; “Art of the Charreria: A Mexican Tradition,” showcasing more than 350 pieces celebrating Mexico’s national sport, through Sept. 29. Tue.-Sun., 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; Thu., 10 a.m.-8 p.m.
