Euro Disney SCA said its fiscal first-half loss tripled as Europe’s largest theme park operator spent more on advertising and hired new employees for the opening of Walt Disney Studios, its second entertainment complex.
The loss widened to $69 million in the six months ended March 31, said Pieter Boterman, a spokesman. Sales rose 4.2%.
Walt Disney Co. owns 39% of the French company.
