Pasadena Poly Wins Another Softball Title
- Share via
Softball league titles are common at Pasadena Poly, where the Panthers (20-4, 12-0) recently won their 20th in a row when claiming the Prep League championship.
The Panthers became only the second team in state history to win as many in softball.
Chuck Ellis, who has coached at Poly for 21 seasons--his team finished in third his first year--said much of the credit this season goes to pitcher Emily Nelson (19-2).
Poly’s milestone title came as the state and Southern Section record-holder, Lancaster Paraclete, finally had its streak ended at 23 consecutive titles, 21 under Coach Margaret Neill, when North Hills L.A. Baptist won the Alpha League championship this season.
