Train Engineer Killed, 14 U.S. Soldiers Hurt

A freight train carrying U.S. military equipment collided with another train in the Czech Republic, killing a train engineer and injuring 14 U.S. soldiers.
The train laden with air defense equipment was traveling to a military exercise near the town of Karlovy Vary, 80 miles west of Prague, the capital, said Vladimir Palan, a Czech military spokesman.
The U.S. troops were from the Army’s 1st Infantry Division, based in Wuerzburg, Germany. None were considered to have life-threatening injuries.
