Fountain Valley’s LaRuffa Wins 500th

Fountain Valley High baseball Coach Ron LaRuffa registered his 500th career victory Tuesday when the Barons defeated Huntington Beach Edison, 5-4, to clinch the Sunset League title. LaRuffa, who is retiring after this season, has led Fountain Valley to seven league titles in 13 seasons. Before he arrived, the school had won two league titles in 24 years. LaRuffa also led Edison to four league titles in 12 seasons.
