Midfielder Harvey Gets
National Soccer Award
Midfielder Jordan Harvey of Mission Viejo Capistrano Valley High has been selected the Gatorade national boys’ soccer player of the year.
The UCLA-bound Harvey played in only half of Capistrano Valley’s games this season, but stood out while playing in several matches for the national under-20 team.
Harvey, who didn’t play for Capistrano Valley while training with the national team at Bradenton, Fla., as a sophomore and junior, is the first Californian to be selected for the award since Gatorade initiated it in 1987.
