Man Found to Have Kept Remains of 19 People
The discovery of at least 19 corpses--some a decade old--in the home and car of a former funeral parlor employee could shed new light on thousands of cases of cremation fraud in Spain, authorities said.
Police found the remains Monday after the suspect, 40, a former driver for a local funeral home, was stopped at a road check in the town of Ardales, near Malaga in the south.
Six skulls and some bones were packed inside industrial-size garbage bags in the trunk, police said.
Investigators found the remains of at least 13 more bodies in garbage bags at the suspect’s home.
