French advertising company Publicis has agreed to buy U.S. rival BCom3 Group Inc. for $3billion in stock in a deal that would create the fourth-largest advertising group in the world.
Chicago-based BCom3’s main clients include Procter & Gamble Co., McDonald’s Corp. and Philip Morris Cos.
Publicis and BCom3 are currently the sixth- and seventh-largest advertising firms, and their combination would put them just behind the New York-based Interpublic Group of Cos. and Omnicom Group Inc. and Britain’s WPP Group.
