Developer Western Realco of Newport Beach will begin work this summer on the first phase of a 227-acre business park in Redlands that eventually will include approximately 3 million square feet of industrial and office space, the company said.
The project, to be built with Bixby Land Co. of Long Beach, will be called Redlands Business Center and will occupy a site north of Interstate 10 between Mountain View Avenue and California Street.
The park will be valued at approximately $150 million when it is completed in about five to seven years, said Gary Edwards, a Western Realco vice president.
The first 300,000 square feet of buildings in the $12-million first phase will be erected at the site by the middle of next year, Edwards said.
The general contractor for the project is Oltmans Construction Co. of Whittier.
The architect is Bastien & Associates of Tustin.
The land planner is Urban Environs of Redlands.
